Because you deserve a life that feels like sunshine.
Sunny Day Psych
Because you deserve a life that feels like sunshine.
In those moments where everything feels like too much, finding a way forward can seem impossible.
I see you— I’ve been there. It might feel too heavy right now, but you don’t have to carry it alone.
RETHINKING MENTAL HEALTH CARE
A little different on purpose.
Seeing a psychiatrist can be pretty uncomfortable. It’s hard enough allow yourself to be vulnerable with a stranger, but it’s even more difficult when the interaction feels rushed and impersonal.
Throughout my career, I've learned that the relationship you build with your provider directly impacts the outcome of your care. Besides my personal experience, there is also a significant amount of research pointing to the same conclusion.
My practice was founded on a commitment to challenging traditional standards of mental health care. The key to my approach is authenticity; I like to keep things casual, conversational, and lighthearted whenever possible. You deserve a provider who is as invested in your care as you are, whether you’re a parent seeking support for your child or an adult working through a quarter-life crisis.
I am passionate about equity in the classroom and ensuring children have access to the tools they need for success. As an educational advocate, I work with families to navigate special education services. This includes making the initial request for psychoeducational evaluation, developing strategies tailored to the child's needs, and communicating with schools as a resource.
In addition to medication management, I provide psychotherapy services for a limited number of clients. I specialize in exposure and response prevention (ERP) therapy for clients with OCD, though I accept clients with other concerns as availability permits.
Evidence-based medicine tailored to your unique needs. A collaborative process where your autonomy is respected and you’re valued as an expert in your care.
A deep dive into what makes you, you. Individualized assessments to support clients through life’s biggest changes.

ABOUT
About
Katie Cummings CRNP, PMHNP-BC
I’ve been working as a psychiatric nurse practitioner since 2023, specializing in the treatment of pediatric, adolescent, and young adult clients in both community mental health and private practice settings. Prior to obtaining my master’s degree, I worked as a registered nurse across various specialties, including inpatient psychiatric care, crisis intervention, and neuroscience nursing.
I’m passionate about my work because I know what it feels like to need help and not know where to find it. My goal is to be the type of provider that I would want for myself: someone who shows up authentically and is committed to helping you succeed.
Hello Sunshine!
I’m Katie— a psychiatric nurse practitioner who’s been there.
My approach is all about real talk and real support— no rushed appointments, no one-size-fits-all treatment plans. If you’re ready to try something different, you’re in the right place.
